Halo Management - A Strong and Experienced Team

Halo Coatings LLC is led by a strong management team that has experience in starting successful manufacturing companies, a keen understanding of corporate branding and the building of distribution channels and has already proven itself by establishing the strong pipeline of opportunities that will be realized in 2008.

Halo's Executive Leadership Team includes:

 

Eric Labak - CEO 


Mr. Labak was appointed to CEO of Halo in July of 2010. He had served in an advisory and support role to Halo in the past.


Mr. Labak is responsible for developing, refining and executing Halo’s corporate strategy, policies, goals and objectives. This role is accountable for company performance and reports to the Board of Directors. Mr. Labak also oversees the companies accounting, audit, and external reporting functions.


Prior to joining Halo, Mr. Labak served as an Executive of an S&P 500 Publicly Traded Industrial Company from 2003-2010. Mr. Labak also brings extensive Executive level Sales and Marketing experience to Halo.


Ryan Downey - Director of Operations

 

Ryan brings nearly 10 years of successful sales and marketing experience at a global level. Ryan has helped define and focus Halo's market initiatives into the Highway and Transportation Markets and will help lead the way as Halo expands beyond these markets into the consumer products sector.
 

Prior to joining Halo Coatings , Mr. Downey was President of DDI, a NYC based Diamond Company which sources loose stones from numerous Diamond Trading Companies and site holders including, EMA-RAMA, Julius Klein, Leo Schachter , and Louis Glick. In addition, Mr. Downey served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Downey Creations, where he contributed to the company's success in loose diamond events with
major jewelry chains like, Zale's, Kay's, Crescents, and Rogers & Holland's. Mr. Downey attended the University of Akron where he majored in political science and pre-law.

Randall Kraft - Business Development Manager- Highway

 

While employed with Industrial Powder Coating, Inc., he managed an account portfolio of over 20 million dollars in coating revenues, primarily automotive accounts with Ford, Visteon, Chrysler, Delphi, Bosch, GM, Mack and Volvo. IPC's annual coating revenues were in excess of 60 million dollars. Randall acquired over 10 million dollars in new metal finishing business (powder coating, plating, and e-coating), and worked as sales and marketing director for several other metal finishing companies. He has assisted in the implementation of QS 9000, and followed strict automotive standards set forth within this designation. Randall is a graduate of the University of Toledo (Toledo, Ohio), with a Bachelor of Business administration, majoring in finance, and has studied economics, psychology, and political science at The University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Greg Downey - Board Advisor

 

Mr. Downey is Managing Director of Purim Ventures, a strategic advisory and venture firm specializing in emerging growth companies in high tech and medical device. As an advisory board member to Halo, Mr. Downey in involved in business development, branding and marketing activities, and advises the company on investor relations. Mr. Downey provides over 15 years of senior level executive management and entrepreneurial experience in multiple business sectors where he has assisted several high growth US and European-based companies enter their respective markets through strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Downey is active on the boards of several private companies and non-profit organizations.

Duane N. Redding - Board Advisor

 

Mr. Redding is the current President/CEO of Redding Industries, Inc. Mr. Redding’s background includes serving as a civilian contractor for the Unites States Dept. of Defense, NASA/JPL, as well as several large defense firms. Mr. Redding provides almost 20 years of aerospace and mechanical engineering knowledge plus capabilities from his firm including consumer product design, biomedical engineering, and manufacturing engineering expertise. Currently, Mr. Redding acts as board member of several small firms which specialize in expedited time to market for evolving technology.


Mr. Redding’s background also includes extensive work and regulatory understanding from NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) ,the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

 

Don Harris - Board Advisor

With over 40 years experience in the traffic controls materials industry, Don Harris brings an immense amount of experience and oversight to MKB. Largely considered by industry insiders as the inventor of reflective technologies, Mr. Harris spent 33 years within 3M?s Traffic Control Materials Division in areas spanning sales, marketing, research, traffic safety, visibility and human factors. Mr. Harris is a member of the Temporary Traffic Control Devices Technical Committee of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD), as well as the Transportation Research Board?s (TRB) Visibility Committee and the Committee on Signs, Markings and Coatings.

Mr. Harris has been a member of the American Traffic Safety Service Association (ATSSA) for over 30 years and has held various leadership positions and was voted as the ?Pioneer of the Year? in 1997. While at ATSSA, Mr. Harris has served as Chairperson of the Signs Committee, Chairperson of the Task Force to develop policy for the Association on Aging Drivers, Chairperson of the Task Force to develop policy for Association on Highway Safety Management Plan, Member of the Industry Steering Group on National Testing Product Evaluation Program. He also served two consecutive years on the Board of Directors, four years on the Operating Committee and is continually sought out as an association leader.

Mr. Harris is an active member of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is involved with the committee currently negotiating regulation on headlight beam patters and aiming. As a member of the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (AASHTO), Mr. Harris serves on the Signing Materials Project panel, and is ATSSA?s representative for the programs Technical Team on Operations and Regulations. Mr. Harris received his Marketing degree from the University of Iowa.

Retro-Reflective

Retro-reflectivity is defined as returning light back to the light source along the same light path. When driving at night, a STOP sign is reflecting the light that strikes it from the head lights of an approaching vehicle. The light is then sent or ?retro-reflected? back to the source and subsequently the viewing lens of the drivers? eye. This event allows for the nighttime driver to identify and react from a much greater distance, rather than simply relying upon the headlights to eventually illuminate the object.
